ACCRA, GHANA

Akwaaba - Day 1

Akwaaba means Welcome in Twi, Ghana's official language. We start our adventure in Ghana's capital city, Accra. It is your first day so take  some time to get accumulated with your new home for the next week. That night, you'll meet the group at our official welcome dinner
and then head out for a night on the town!

Labadi Party! - Day 2

Today we're headed to one of Ghana's best beaches, Labadi Beach. We have a full day of beach, sand, sun, and fun!

Elmina Castle & Cape Coast  - Day 3

Rise and shine, we're headed to Cape Coast! Our first stop is Elmina Castle; you will learn about the transatlantic slave trade and the "point of no return".  During your tour, you will walk the same path as slaves and see the dungeons where they spent their last days.

Kakum National Park - Day 4 

Ready to conquer your fear of heights? Today, we are going to Kakum National Park to climb high above the trees across the canopy bridges! No worries, if you'd like to sit this one out, you can eat, shop, and explore the National Park.

Maakye Kumasi - Day 5 

Maakye, we're in Kumasi! Wake up in Kumasi, today you'll visit the Ashanti king's palace. We will be experiencing firsthand life as Ghanaian royalty.  Afterwards, we'll go to Bonwire to learn about the process of creating authentic Ashtanti kente cloth. Don't forget to wear your kente or ankara!

Jollof & Adinkra  - Day 6

Ntonso is the homeland of the Adinkra and where the traditional Adinkra cloth is made. Today,  we will experience various stages of producing Adinkra's traditional cloth! Afterwards, we will head to Kejetia's Market to do some souvenir shopping where you can pick up some things for family and friends back home. Are you hungry yet? We will have a hands-on cooking experience where we will prepare a traditional Ghanaian dinner. Cue the jollof!

Free Day - Day 7

Take today to catch up on some sleep and explore Accra on your own!

Afrobeats & Good Eats - Day 8

Today is your last full day in Ghana. After breakfast, we will dance! This energetic class will take us across Ghana's dance floors. You will learn the best  dance routines to your favorite Afrobeats songs! Later that night you'll meet up with your new travel tribe for our farewell dinner.

Mah Krow - Departure Day

The fun has come to an end! It's time to head back to the US.
